Yamaha: SVC-100 Silent Electric Cello

The Silent Electric Cello possesses a warm, full-bodied tone with most of the characteristics and nuances found in any acoustic cello. What is unique is its ability to place that sound in the rich acoustic environments of concert halls without any external processing equipment. A specially designed chip by Yamaha digitally enhances The Silent Electric Cello's sound with reverb. Simply select from Large Hall, Medium Hall or Room to hear yourself in different virtual environments.

In addition to the Silent Electric Cello's reverb section, the instrument is also equipped with Auxiliary In, Line Out, and Headphone Jacks. Connect a CD player, MD player, or cassette deck to the input jack to play along with your favorite recordings. This is an extremely useful feature when practicing. With the output jack connected to a P.A. or external audio system, you can perform live or for friends.

The Silent Electric Cello offers the advantage of practicing or playing at times and in places you wouldn't have before. Just connect the headphones and you'll be enwrapped in a sound so rich and full that you'll feel like you're performing on the stage of a concert hall. While you are enjoying the instrument's virtual environment, its "silent" design produces little acoustic sound so you won't be disturbing those nearby.
